This modern Prairie-style home was inspired by architect Faye Jones' contemporary ranch homes of the 60's, which were influenced by the infamous work of Frank Lloyd Wright. The low profile, the use of natural materials indoors and out, the vaulted interiors and the strong relationship to the outdoors established through the use of floor-to-ceiling glass were all elements common to homes of Jones and Wright design.

A 75 foot series of skylights runs through the center of this spectacular home. A wood grill helps to both diffuse the light and create interesting shadows during the day. At night the grill features soft lighting, and becomes the dominant decorative feature. Natural slate flooring in the entry, gallery hall and main traffic areas enhance the feeling of serenity throughout the main areas of the home.

Designed for a active family with children, the floor plan uses wings to provide a clear division of activities, as well as to provide spaces for the whole family. For instance, the family entertainment wings includes a game room, a family room with fireside seating and home theater equipment, a state of the art kitchen with a breakfast nook and an outdoor living room with built in barbecue. There is also studio space for hobbies or a home gym. Natural colors and textures pervade the home, from the cracked pepper shade of slate, to the chamomile of the walls and the camel color of the natural wool carpet in the cozy, yet expansive great room.

The private wings include one for adults and one for children. The bedrooms of the children's wing are designed off a central activity area. The space is perfect for completing project or entertaining friends in an atmosphere featuring a fun splash of colors and natural cork flooring. The master wing is a quiet sanctuary that takes advantage of pastoral views, and the large, open shower in the bath features a stone wall accented with glass for added sophistication and luxury. The guest suite is conveniently located at the intersection, and the center of the home includes the formal living room, dining room and home office
