To coin a phrase, once upon a time, would seem the
perfect introduction to the enchanting, "Cottage
by the Tree". A welcoming pathway of basalt stepping-stones
meanders through the front gardens beckoning you to
visit. Just beyond, sits a storybook country cottage
of swirling cedar plank, a whimsical accent to the cultured
fieldstone façade.
The "Cottage by the Tree" is shaded by the
lush canopy of it's stately namesake, a massive old
oak tree, the view of which charms every room in the
house. The adjacent green-space further enhances the
idyllic setting, offering pastoral views and the picturesque
backdrop of the Tualatin valley beyond.
Rich cherry wood floors welcome you to the elegant
great-room layout. A floor to ceiling stone fireplace
bathes the space in warmth and further captures the
cozy appeal of an intimate den tucked into the corner.
The tranquility of the view through the expansive windows
sets the tone for the informal dining area creating
the atmosphere of dining al fresco. The charming aesthetic
is rivaled only by the superior usability of design.
Four bedrooms ensure ample space for family and guests.
The expansive informal living area downstairs boasts
another fireplace, a home theatre, a wine cellar, and
generous space for billiards, hobbies and family gathering
and entertaining.
Furnishings:
A rich tapestry of willow bark, thistle and sage hues
create warmth and compliment the distressed, rough-hewn
textures of the furnishings in the great room. An intricately
carved painted wood dining table with an antiqued finish
is the perfect setting for sharing a meal with family
and friends. The master suite is a blend of rich, soft
and soothing colors and balances beautifully with the
stately and sculpted lines of the bedroom suite. The
master bath features plenty of natural light and a claw
foot, soaking tub that sits directly beneath a large
window overlooking the valley view. The entertainment
area was designed using easy and flexible interchangeable
pieces to allow you to create comfortable seating groups
as needed for theatre viewing or intimate conversation.
